Browser Requirements

We have created a website that will appear and function the same for people using different browsers and different operating systems.  However, there are always certain system set-ups that provide for a better experience.   Please consider the following recommendations...

Browser Versions - Internet Explorer 6.0 and above or Netscape Navigator 4.8 and above.  To avoid possible duplication of records or displaying cached information during your session we recommend using Internet Explorer 6.0 and above.

Javascript Turned On - our site makes use of JavaScript in order to enhance the site and make it more functional.  We strongly advise using a java capable browser and recommend that the JavaScript functionality be switched on.

To Avoid Caching Problems - Turn the cache option off in your web browser. When the cache is turned off on your browser you will always retrieve the latest information from our website.

How to turn the cache option off:

Internet Explorer 6.0
 1.  Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.
 2.  On the General tab choose Settings in the area marked
      Temporary Internet Files.
 3.  Under the option "Check for newer versions of stored pages:"
choose the "Every visit to the page" option.
 4.  Click OK.
 5.  Click on the Security Tab.
 6.  Make sure that the Internet area is the selected area. This is done by clicking
on the Globe in the area marked "Select a Web content zone to specify
      its security settings".
 7.  Click Default Level.
 8.  The slider should be set at the Medium level, which is the second level down
from the top of the slider.
 9.  Click OK and you will return to your web browser.

Netscape Communicator 7.0
 1.  Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
 2.  Double-Click Privacy & Security.
 3.  In the section marked "Cookies" choose the option Enable all cookies.
 4.  Double-Click Advanced.
 5.  Click on the option marked Cache.
 6.  In the section with the heading "Compare the page in the cache to the page
on the network: "Choose the option marked Every time I view the page.
 7.  Click OK and you will return to your web browser Troubleshooting.

Even with all of the above precautions there is still a possibility that pages may still be cached. This is due to the way that your browser handles web content and sometimes caches content even when it is asked not to. If you have problems logging into our system or if you have difficulty with submitted information not showing up in the system, try the following methods to solve the problem. Your first step should be to hit the Refresh or Reload button in your web browser. You may need to hit Reload/Refresh once or twice to see your results. This is especially true when working with Netscape Communicator. If you are still experiencing difficulty close down your web browser and start it back up again. Log back into the system and see if the problem was resolved. Problems can also be encountered in a network environment such as when your connection passes through another institution on it’s way to the Internet. In this case you will need to contact your network supervisor or technology coordinator for assistance on getting the problem resolved.

Screen Resolution - Although our website can be viewed at any of the standard monitor resolutions we recommend viewing the site at a resolution of 800x600.
